Pastor Wendy

Hello! I’m Pastor Wendy and it has been my joy to serve as the pastor of the New Horizon United Methodist Church since July 1, 2005. I live in Orfordville with my husband Ryan and our sons, Alex and Noah.

I have known that God was nudging me toward ministry since I was fourteen years old. I was raised mostly in the Staver United Methodist Church, a small country church south of Monroe, WI. In a small church everyone gets the chance to serve, so at the age of twelve I became the church pianist and by the time I was a teenager I was serving on some of the committees of the church. When I was in college I was hired as the Parish Assistant of the Monroe United Methodist Church, which gave me a chance to experience ministry in a much larger church. When I was in seminary I served as the Student Pastor of the United Methodist churches in Argyle, Blanchardville, Lamont, and South Wayne, WI, which were all smaller churches like the one in which I was raised. I have especially enjoyed developing ministries for children.

I feel fabulously blessed to be the pastor of the New Horizon United Methodist Church. Not only are we close to our childhood homes (Ryan and I both grew up around Monroe), but we are a part of a truly remarkable church family here. I hope you’ll come and see for yourself!
